Fridays Are For One Question
December 11th, 2009 | Fridays Are For One Question
Once again this week, it’s a holiday-themed question. And this week, let’s discuss movies. There are some great holiday movies out there. I’ve been busily setting the Tivo all week to record various and sundry Christmas-y type things. So what about you?
“What’s the best holiday movie?”
**The goal of “One Question Friday” is simple: To show that everyone has something funny, engaging, creative, and worthwhile to say. So comment away! Be real. Be creative. Think hard. And check back to see how others answered the question.

The Muppets Christmas Carol really reminds me what’s important, and the Claymation Christmas Special gets me singing the truths of Jesus—especially “Joy to the World!” Love those images of delight when Jesus came as an infant. I drive my family crazy watching the latter, but hey, isn’t that my job as a mom?

Personal fave is “Home Alone.”
Family-wide fave is “Christmas Vacation.”
Family-friendly fave is “Elf.”
Romantic fave for me and the wifey is “Serendipity.” Even though it’s not really a Christmas movie it’s very Christmasy.

My favorite Christmas movie would be either Home Alone or White Christmas.
However…I must, must, MUST watch A Christmas Story on TNT (24 hours!) at least three times on Christmas Eve. Mainly because it’s non-paid programming and on late at night when I can’t get to sleep because I have Christmas butterflies in my stomach (which still happens to me at 27)…

Better Off Dead – less well-known than say Die Hard, but just as holiday appropriate. And, John Cusack . . . and so much more.

I’d have to go with the Star Wars Trilogy or the Back to the Future Trilogy. Okay so those aren’t Christmas movies, but they always play them at Christmas time on TV. Actually I can’t think of any actually Christmas movies at the moment. Pretty lame, I know.
