Well, friends, we are nearing the completion of the renovation of our house after the flood, though Joshua and Andi are both sad that they won’t get to sleep in the same room any more.

Jana and I are not sad.

But we are recognizing that even though the “big stuff” is almost done, there are a ton of little projects left. Resorting the stuff to go to storage, painting that last piece of the baseboard, hanging pictures, painting the doors – you get the idea. So onto the question:

“What is the lingering project you have at home that you need to complete?”

We’ve started playing the “take-turns story” game at our house.

It’s pretty simple. I start a story, hand it off to the kids, they tell a part, then hand it back to me, and so on. Usually it involves Star Wars, though when Andi gets a chance to tell her part, somehow Cinderella makes an appearance in the Millineum Falcon.

Whatever – it’s a take-turns story.

Point is that there is always an epic battle scene between the forces of good and evil. Such is the inspiration for today’s question:

“What’s the best pairing of hero/villain ever created?”

More than once on the blog, I’ve bemoaned the long summer of heat here in Nashville. Consequently, I continue to anticipate the coming of fall. It’s my favorite season.

Cooler weather, great sports, leaves changing – all that stuff. So todays’ question is simple:

“What’s your favorite season?”

Last night, Joshua had one of his first experiences at overeating. We were at a fine local establishment, a “Meat n 3″, which if you’re not in the south, basically means you choose a meat and 3, um “vegetables.” Of course, the vegetables range from fried corn, to corn nuggets, to french fries, to squash casserole. I think there may be some green beans in there too.

Anyway, Joshua killed his plate. Destroyed it. And then, after his second glass of fruit tea, shared a piece of chocolate-fudge-meringue pie. It was about 7 inches tall.

When we got home, he kept saying, “My belly won’t stop being big. It hurts when I breathe.”

I fully believed him.

The same thing has happened to me on a number of occasions. Like the time in 4th grade when I polished off a whole pack of Nutter Butters. Or the first time I had ribs at Dreamland BBQ in Birmingham. So many meals, so much pain.

It made me think, and so now I pose the question to you:

“When was the last time you ate so much that it physically hurt?”

On the wall on my office hang 2 piece of plywood. On there, I use a Sharpie to write quotes that I think are particularly meaningful. And here’s my thing about quotes – I don’t have to agree with everything the person says to like this one, little nugget of truth.

I think I’ve got a pretty diverse group on there. I’ve got a quote from Rocky Balboa next to one from Anne Lamott next to GK Chesterson Next to Martin Luther next to Ralph Waldo Emerson next to Albert Einstein next to John Calvin next to M Night Shylaman. Ecclectic, I know.

But that’s the nature of today’s question:

“What one quote would you frame and hang in your home or your office?”

As of Joshua’s 6th birthday, we have officially added a Wii to our household. It’s pretty cool, but I admit that it’s a little over my head. Lots of buttons on that thing. And a joy stick. And something called a “nun-chuck” I think. It makes me long for the, um, simplicity of a Nintendo.

That inspired today’s question. So think back to the Nintendo, the arcade, or whatever else you can knock the cobwebs off of:

My wife and a few others thought I wrote kind of passionately about the movie experience in yesterday’s post. What can I say? I really, really enjoy the movies. But having said that, there has been more than once when I’ve wanted my $10 back. That’s what today’s question revolves around:

Today my beautiful wife and kids return home after a 2-day road trip back from the Panhandle of Texas. It’s a trip we’ve made often, and funny thing about it – it’s still a long ways. But every time I’m on the road, I hearken back to the days of my youth when there was no distance too great for my dad to drive us. We would pile into the station wagon, and later the suburban, and hit the road. So let’s talk road trips on today’s question:

“What’s the best road trip you’ve ever been on?”

It seems like God is very concerned with how we wait. We are urged to wait, told we are going to wait, taught how to wait – in a sense, we’re always waiting for something, if only heaven. Much of life is about waiting, and the Bible talks alot about it. So today’s question is simple, if not a little ambiguous:
